This competition supports early-stage innovative and entrepreneurial ventures by Texas State students, faculty, alumni, and the community with the goal of building bridges between Texas State and other talent hubs in the Central Texas Innovation Corridor and beyond!

Applications are now being accepted for scalable business concepts that have a need for early-stage non-dilutive funding, guidance, and connection to an established network of entrepreneurs, faculty experts, mentors, and investors. 

Winners receive:
  • Up to $20,000 in non-dilutive startup funding
  • Space at STAR One, Texas State's technology incubator
  • Mentorship from Texas State's Entrepreneurs-in-Residence 
All applicants should have at least one key team member who is a current Texas State student, faculty, staff or alumnus. If you do not have a Texas State team member, we will be happy to assist in connecting you to one prior to or shortly after submitting your application.

Bobcat Start-Up is for freshmen across all majors and colleges who have an interest in learning the skills and mindset needed to start their own business or other entrepreneurial venture.

Located in College Inn, Bobcat StartUp will engage, educate, and equip undergraduates with the resources needed to be the next generation of technical, social, and innovative entrepreneurs that find real world solutions to complex problems for the benefit our local and global society.

Application Deadline: May 31st, 2021

Students in Bobcat Start-Up will participate in out-of-class experiences throughout the year. Activities will include a sequence of micro-trainings, workshops, and external speaker events that enable students to accelerate their business ideas and engage with the larger innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem at Texas State. Topic areas include idea formulation and development, brainstorming solutions, business formation, investment, raising capital and protecting ideas/ownership, among other topics.

EIA Global is a virtual study abroad program with hundreds of students from the world's top universities coming together in an international working environment. Students will be immersed in a rigorous, yet fun, international working environment while creating a startup. Students will gain practical, insider knowledge from world-class mentors and speakers as they pitch their new startup idea to EIA's global investor community.

The program is open to graduate and undergraduate students from all disciplines.
